Our Staff

A good trainer can help you teach your dog the life skills he or she will need in order to make both you and your dog’s day to day living easier and more enjoyable. Selecting the right trainer is imperative to the success of your dog’s training. You want someone who both you and your dog can trust, who enjoys his work, and is knowledgeable in the field.

Our professional dog trainer, Sebastian Zang, is a graduate of the “Make Dogs Your Life” Dog Training Academy. He’s a certified trainer and dog behaviorist as well as a licensed AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. He’s also a member of AKC Agility and USMRA (US Mondioring Association). He offers a wide variety of group classes to assist you in all of your training needs. He also specializes in aggression issues, jumping and behavior modification. If you’re in the mood for fun and exercise, check out his Open Agility Club (no experience needed). Agility meets once to twice weekly, depending on scheduling, please call us for dates, times and availability to reserve your spot.

Training Classes Offered

Free Pet Evaluation – This is a free service we offer and something that is highly recommended so that our trainer can help you to decide what training option best suits your needs. We also go over the principles of dog training and explain a little bit of how we train at our facility.

Puppy Education – Establishing good manners and socialization at an early age can make your puppy an enjoyable member of your family. This class is for dogs from 8 weeks to 6 months old. During the class you will learn how to use praise and reinforcements for your dog’s good behavior. In dog-to-dog and dog-to-people interaction we also include puppy care topics such as housebreaking, proper greetings when meeting two and four legged friends, teething problems, health care tips and proper nutrition. This class meets for 7 weeks, once a week for 50 minutes. The price for Puppy Education is $100.

Novice Obedience – Our beginning obedience class is designed for dogs 5 months of age and older. You will learn how to teach your dog the basic commands while on leash: loose leash walking, sit, sit stay, down, down stay, and come when called. Obedience also helps you teach your dog to obey a command the first time it is given and each time it is given. You learn how to be in a permanent leadership role with your dog, and how to build calm and controlled behavior. This class meets for 7 weeks, once a week for a 50 minute session. The price for Novice Obedience is $150.

Advanced Obedience – This class is for dogs continuing on from the basic level of obedience, and is designed to build off-leash reliability on basic commands. You will learn how to train your dog to do some of the more advanced commands: heeling (on and off leash), halt, sit in motion, down in motion, stand, finish, and the climb. This class meets for 7 weeks and is 50 minutes long. The price for Advanced Obedience is $175.
