Meet Our Team

Meet the Veterinarians and team of Sauk Prairie Small Animal Hospital in Prairie du Sac! We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Our Veterinarians

Abigail Clepper, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Abigail M. Clepper grew up in Athens, Ohio and has been working in the animal related field for over 22 years. She earned dual bachelor degrees in zoology and education at Ohio University, then taught High School Biology for 4 years before starting vet school.  She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary School in 2002. She moved with her family to Wisconsin in 2012 and has been with Sauk Prairie Small Animal Hospital since then.

Dr. Abby enjoys many aspects of small animal practice, but has a particular interest in dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology and feline medicine.

“One of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine is the chance to get to know pet owners and help provide the best care possible for their pets,” says Dr. Abby. “I also really enjoy working with our super talented support staff and appreciate that we offer state of the art care with a hometown feel.”

At home, the Clepper family is busy with their two dogs Petey and Calypso and their cat, Parton.  She personally enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, boating, hiking, gardening, and staying busy with her college aged kids and husband.

Our Associate Veterinarians

Dr. Chad Landes, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Chad Landes and his family are originally from Springfield Corners. He went to UW-Platteville where he received his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. He then earned his DVM from the University of Missouri.

Dr. Chad has many interests in veterinary medicine including dentistry, reproductive medicine, and population management. The most rewarding aspect of working here is becoming part of the community and being able to give back to those who helped him achieve his life long goal of being a veterinarian.

“The first impression one gets when they walk through the doors of Sauk Prairie Small Animal hospital is a true sense of community.”

In his spare time, Dr. Chad enjoys hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and spending time with his family. Dr. Chad and his wife, Sarah, are proud parents to daughters, Madelyn, Grace, and Kylie. Rounding out their home is cat, Squeakers and dog, Daisy.

Dr. Megan Krapf, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Megan Krapf grew up in Waunakee, Wisconsin; and has a lot of family who live nearby in Plain, so she is very familiar with the Sauk area. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2015. After undergraduate school, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in Ames, which she completed in 2019. Dr. Megan has special interests in surgery and dermatology but loves all aspects that small animal veterinary medicine has to offer!

In her spare time, Dr. Krapf likes to get together with her friends and family, attend as many Badger football or basketball games as she can! During the summer time, she also loves to spend time out at the lake and go boating as much as possible. She is excited to be back close to home and to begin her career with such a wonderful veterinary family.

We’re excited to announce Dr. Megan is now performing orthopedic surgery! Call for your orthopedic exam if your pet is limping, holding up a leg sporadically or constantly, or seems to be moving awkwardly. While surgery may not be required, Dr. Megan will formulate a treatment plan that suits you and your pet’s needs and answer any questions.
